Accessibility:
The car park has room for approx 5/6 vehicles, with no disability spaces. There are no toilets on site. It is a 200 metre walk across uneven grassed path to monument, uphill from car park, with kissing gates at either end of path, which is difficult for wheelchair access. Guide dogs are welcome.
Brief Description:
Constructed nearly 6000 years ago, this Neolithic burial chamber held the bodies of over 50 individuals. At around 40 tons, the capstone weighs as much as an articulated lorry and is one of the largest in Britain.
