Some of the garden paths are unsuitable for wheelchair users, but there are step-free routes around both house and gardens, Mobility Transport (and wheelchair loan) is available, and entrances to attractions have access ramps. Brief description
This is a splendidly restored Georgian mansion with 100 acres of ornamental gardens, formerly the residence of the Governor of Northern Ireland. Queen Elizabeth stays here when she is in town.

Directions
Follow M1 motorway southbound from Belfast. Leave M1 at Lisburn Sprucefield turn-off. At roundabout take A1 southbound. At next roundabout follow signs to Hillsborough. Then follow brown signs to Castle car park.

Site is easy to access by private car - 12.6 miles from Belfast (20km) Or take bus no.238 from Belfast Europa Bus Centre, alighting at Hillsborough War Memorial, and then follow brown signs to the Castle.
