Accessibility:
There is a car park at the castle which is level, but only has room for 5 cars. The footpath to the castle is up a steep hill, which can become slippery when wet. There is a wider footpath which is gated and becomes a road which goes up to the castle. No vehicles are allowed up this footpath.
Brief Description:The remains of this castle, begun by Llywelyn ap Gruffudd ('the Last') in 1273 and captured by the English in 1277, have been revealed by excavations.
