There is street parking in Charterhouse Lane/Sykes Street which is limited to 2 hours. There are wide level pavements/sidewalks making it wheelchair accessible.
Brief Description:
The Charterhouse was once a hospital in 1350, and then a Carthusian monastery from 1377 until 1538. It was rebuilt in 1645 and again in 1780. It is a Grade I Listed Building which is now an almshouse containing one and two bedroom flats, a hall for social activities, a laundry room, a hair dressing salon and a chapel which residents attend on Sundays.

Opening Hours:
No public access. They have hosted a Heritage Open day where the Chapel and Gardens were open to the public.
Directions:
From Beverley via A1079 (12.8m). Head northeast on Newbegin toward Lairgate/A164. Turn left onto Lairgate/A164. Turn left onto York Rd/A1174 and continue to follow for 1.7miles. Follow A1079 and A1033 to Ferry Ln/A1165 in Hull for 9 miles. Take Bank Side, Wincolmlee, Cumberland Street and Wincolmlee to Charterhouse Lane.
From Barton Upon Humber via A63 (11.8m). (This route has tolls). Get on Humber Bridge/A15 from Ferriby Road/A1011. Follow A15 and A63 to Wincolmlee in Hull for 10.2 miles. Continue on Wincolmlee. Drive to Charterhouse Lane.
