Brief description
"Southampton City Art Gallery holds one of the finest collections of art in the south of England and holds ‘Designated’ status, awarded by Arts Council England. Currently comprising over 5,000 works and spanning eight centuries, the collection is an outstanding educational resource that can trace the history of European art from the Renaissance to the present. The core, however, is British twentieth century and contemporary art."

Southampton City Art Gallery is situated on Commercial Road, on the northern end of the Civic Centre the entrance faces the park.

Directions from the M3: Drive from M3 to Hampshire. Take exit 14 from M3 > Take A33 to A3024 in Southampton > At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Bassett Ave/A33 > Continue to follow A33 Go through 1 roundabout > At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Brunswick Pl/A3024 > Continue to follow A3024 > Take the first left into Commercial Road >Southampton City Art Gallery is on your right opposite the park. The Civic Centre Clock Tower is a good reference point as the gallery entrance is part of the same building.
