Brief description
Constructed during the pleasure pier building boom of the 1860s, Brighton’s West Pier in its heyday attracted millions of visitors with the lure of sea air, public entertainment and the structure’s oriental style.
Following the pier’s closure in 1975, a turbulent series of events ensued and the partial skeleton is all that remains today - an iconic and mesmerising structure.
