Accessibility

There is no designated disabled parking in the car park. Beeston Castle is built on a very steep hill, access to the top is difficult and not accessible. There is a picnic area and benches but the woodland walk is not recommended. Most of the site is uneven and unlikely to be suitable to those with mobility difficulties. Assistance dogs welcome.

Directions

From Chester take Upper Northgate Street to St Oswalds Way/A5268. Take Whitchurch Road/A41 to Chester Road, follow this road for 6 miles. Continue on to Chester Road, take Newton Lane and Tattenhall Lane to Chapel Lane.

"Parking charges apply to non-members. Parking free for members. Entrance is located 10 metres across road from the site. Approx 100 parking spaces (more on event days)."


Opening Times

COVID-19: Beeston Castle is open to local visitors and members. You will need to book in advance in order to visit. This is subject to change within government guidelines 

Current opening times are daily 10am to 4pm. Adult £9.90 Child £6.00, with discounts for families and members.

Transport

Chester Railway station is approximately 12 miles away.

Arriva service 84 runs from Chester to Tarporley, a village about 2.5 miles from Beeston Castle.

There is a café, shop and toilets on-site, with baby-changing facilities but there are no disability toilets.
